4-15-2025 session writeup in Levittown Hall
Our heartfelt thanks to everyone for joining us yesterday.
We are happy to share that we are supporting Brooklyn CB2 Health Fair and so thankful for everyone’s help to put the label of Seva on toothbrushes (We are donating over 200 tooth-brushes) for less fortunate individuals.
We at seva believe in Emotional, Social and Physical improvement as physical activity helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to the vital parts of our body. It was a wonderful experience to exercise for Neck stretches and heart mussels.
Vaisakhi celebration is a very important part of Indian culture so we enjoyed authentic Punjabi style food.
Vaisakhi is also a religious and harvest festival that starts as harvest festival in the Punjab and the creation of Khalsa order, and execution of Guru Tegh Bahadur for refusing to convert to Islam. We always need to refresh our memory so we had a discussion and quiz by Dr. Kalra on the Vaisakhi covering different topics for remembrance.
Our main discussion was ARURVEDA, it is the holistic system of medicine that originated in India more than 3,000 years ago. It takes a natural approach to all aspects of health and well being focusing on the balance between mind, body and soul.
Dr. Anand did a fantastic presentation on the arurveda’s holistic approach, prevention care (focusing on proper diet). We are so thankful to him for taking time in his busy schedule to share his experience with us.
The session concluded with celebration of Vaisakhi with Punjabi folk dances and songs.
