06-13-2025 Session
Hello Everyone,
Thank you so much for attending a very special session of celebrating dementia / Alzheimer’s session
We started the session with Vedic mantras by Dr. Nicole Bissessar and physical exercise as we always do to bring physical awareness.
Every day, handfuls of people across the world are being diagnosed with cancer. Shashi Malik spoke on Cancer awareness for the month of June “Cancer survivor month “ which included – why support groups are important, managing stress as a cancer patient and survivor, practice gratitude to fight, survivor’s guilt and celebrate survivorship, but embrace positivity. Along with survivorship often comes physical, emotional, and financial hardship., One of the most impactful ways to celebrate National Cancer Survivor month as a survivor is to share one’s story. Any survivor can remember the moment that they were diagnosed – the moment that made their stomach sink for lifetime.
We were honored to have Ms. Lauren Vlachos to speak on Alzheimer’s disease, disease develops gradually over the years, affecting more areas of the brain as it progresses. Stages are used to designate the severity of the condition throughout its progression. The more advanced the disease, the more assistance and care required. Stages include mild cognitive impairment, mild dementia, moderate dementia and severe dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease which includes memory loss, difficulty with reasoning and concentration, decreased judgment, difficulty completing routine tasks, changes in personality and mood and maintaining preserved skills
A very special thanks to Mrs. Ravi Kanta Verma and Mrs Sadhna uppal for June donation of fruits/snacks.
We would like to thanks for providing food Sadhna Uppal, Geeta Sood, Nina Belani, Nidi Shah, Shalini Bansal, Dr. Nicole Bissessar and delicious tea of Dr. Abha Bhatnagar and drinks from Sudhir ji.
