January 2026 Events

  • 01-23-2026 session Levittown Hall                   3:30 to 5:30pm The session started with welcome remarks for everyone for joining us. We started the session on Snow storm and things to do to get ready but most important is to help each other and stay in contact. Shashi malik shared that SEVA will be organizing prostate cancer screening on February 22nd in gurdwara and Breast cancer screening is on October 3rd, 2026 from 9 to 1pm and will be participating on May 16th, in Brooklyn Health-fair. Shashi malik shared all” Thank you note for 2025”, celebrated our cultural and holidays, and we did sewing session of Pajama, blood Drive, Two prostate cancer vans, Breast cancer screening, Fruits-snacks donation, turkey donation, clothing donation, toys donation and our blankets and Hats-scarves donation to veterans and cancer patients etc etc. Question was asked – What you like the best and would like to see more of it — Reusable sponges, book covers, tote bags, heating bags, and/or memory quilts – to our Improved Motor Skill, Cognitive Stimulation, Social Connections, and stress relief. Everyone suggested making tote bags in 2026. We will continue-Our fruits-snacks donation for less fortunate families during Holidays and we are thankful to Ruchi Batra, Deepak Sachdev & Rieta Sachdev and all Seva Members for their generous support. Flora Parkih shared the importance and experienced of training of “Mental Health Aid” for adults We had great participation of the following events and quiz

Discussion on Cancer of January – Cervical cancer- All ladies can reduce, risk of developing cervical cancer by having screening tests and receiving a vaccine that protects against HPV infection

Abha Bhatnagar and Asha Dua started cultural celebration with patriotic songs and to celebrate our Republic Day and Lohri and everyone participated.
